Issues in Turkish intonation

This talk is about the current research to arrive at an analysis of Turkish intonation within the framework of Autosegmental-Metrical model of intonational phonology. The pitch contour inventory of Turkish and the interaction of intonation with word order will be the focus of discussion. Issues pertaining to the semantic and pragmatic aspects of intonation will also be discussed.

Parts of the research reported here is joint work with Cem Bozsahin.
