The data from up to four Feature Maps can be displayed on a
single map. Clicking on the button 'View Feature Maps' calls up in a new tab or window
the list of Feature Maps (as if for 'Browse Feature Maps'). Each Map has an identifying
number, e.g. '0002304' for the map 'THEY: ‘th-’ type, forms with initial y-'.
To combine maps, find their Map Numbers. These are entered in the menu under 'Map Nos.'.
So to combine '0002304' with '0002303' ('THEY: ‘th-’ type, forms with initial þ-. ),
Enter the Map Number in the 'Map Nos.' box. Select a symbol from the first menu: CircleFilled, CircleOpen
(i.e. the outline of a circle), SquareFilled, SquareOpen, TriangleFilled or TriangleOpen. Choose
a colour for the symbol from the second menu: Black, Grey, White, Red, Blue, Yellow or Cyan. For
comparison of distrubution of the features, it will be necessary to choose different symbols or colours.
It is important to remember that some symbols may co-occur at the same place on the map and this
should be kept in mind when choosing symbol shapes and colours. Some experimentation is advisable.
Clicking on the button 'Combine Maps' will cause the map to be made in a
new tab or window.
