That syntactic weight and length are fundamental determinants of constituent order is well established. The purpose of this paper is to assess the extent to which these factors apply to data from Lozi texts. In particular, we want to examine the behaviour of adverbial clauses with respect to their positions with the main clause and establish whether weight principles have a role to play.
