I was born in Kobe, Japan. (I am female in case you are wondering.) I received a BA from Osaka University, Japan (English Linguistics), an MA from Lancaster University (Linguistics), and a PhD from Edinburgh University (Linguistics). After my PhD, I worked as a researcher in language acquisition at Bangor University for a while, before coming back to Edinburgh to take up a position in prosodic research.
